redefining science...

PARA ...piyush,akshansh,raghavendra,alok....third year engineering students from Northern India Engineering College Lucknow....have decided to create this blog ...just to share their experience with science....their different approach of taking science.....You all are invited to share your knowledge here...

  1. raghavendra plans to generate energy using wind power with a fan fitted on the outer of a train while it is on the move...please post your comment for or against this idea...the next idea will follow soon....

  2. nice idea phunksu baangdu......bt dere r many constrain....like train speed is nt constant...and in india train halt quite often..so power will be generated in pulses....may use a capacitor bt...would dat be strong enough

  3. achcha how bout the train getting slow as you draw the wind power?????DONT YOU THINK THAT LLL SLOW IT DOWN CONSIDERABLY??

    ReplyDelete
  4. why would train get slow....u ant using tain power actually...ur using wind power due to train movement...so d fans would consume a part of energy of train to be driven...........hey why nt use a part of wind energy generated to drive d fan itself...and train power in case of nt enough wind power

  5. nope....wind is moving with the same velocity (if wind speed is slow)...as the train speed ...so if you use this wind power ....the reaction force that is virtually applied on the train goes down and consequently the seed of the train .....wot do you think????

  6. action reaction is happening/.....train ll move only if the wind is virtually moving in opp. dircn

  7. well i think dat tha prblem of slowing down of train can be overcome by making trains more airodynamic,.

  8. by maiking th train aerodynamic....we increase th speed of the train....no doubt....but tht also increases he speed of the wind thats in the opp./ dirn...any obstruction to this wind speed is surely goin to slow down the speed

  9. hiii guys...nice idea...bt Do u have any idea abt the miminum speed of wind required for the power generation????nd size of the blades is also a constraint as i can visualize...so wat abt it??

    ReplyDelete
  10. miss xi ,i think we can employ techniques lyk valve and regulators..... size a blade has to be small otherwise it ll occupy large space.... how bout the speed of the train going down...do you think its gonna happen???//.....

  11. i think the idea is great..
the only problem is that we can't fit large blades coz then it will interfere with the cable running above the train and various tunnels that a train has to cross!!!!

  12. That is a/c ed , but one major problem that we are concerned about is. . . .the speed of train declining due to the usage of wind energy . . . If you closely think upon this , you will find that there will be fall . . .but the question is . . .how much ?

  13. Well good thing will be : To use the simple air flow to move fans in our local class cabin.U know jus like a hybrid car or use that flow at high speed to run a compressor for AC.

I think wind mill setup requires continuous winds otherwise that setup may cost us more than we produce.

All that matters is if we are burning more diesel to generate electrical..then at what cost??+ or -

Moreover i have did training in railway coach factory. they are using 50 yrs old designs since englishmen. new shatabdi design they bought from some outer firm.So railways .Big Question to implement ideas

  14. ye btao ki jo energy milegi usse sirf train ko chlana hai na...........:)
maine newspaper me ek news padha jo ballon se planning tha wind energy ka use krke.......

    ReplyDelete
  15. abe train kaise chalegi....train ke chalne ki wajah se hi wind hai....but we can draw small amount of energy ....that sounds good 4 me....
